About The Job
The role is responsible for providing strategic advice and support to reduce fleet operating costs and establish best-practice maintenance standards. It involves contributing to the review and development of fleet policies and work instructions, assisting in the preparation of annual capital budgets, and supporting ongoing fleet performance evaluations. The position also includes preparing Asset Acquisition Requests for both new and refurbished fleet assets, developing detailed fleet costings for new business opportunities, and ensuring that all fleet vehicles are serviced and maintained in accordance with scheduled requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Process
- To provide high quality services that meet customers' stated and implied needs.
- Focus on preventative maintenance rather than corrective maintenance.
- Arrange scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance for vehicles in the Fleet, ensuring scheduled servicing is carried out within the set parameters and with a minimum of 97% completion by due date.
- Manage maintenance contracts to ensure vehicle lists are current, rates are charged accurately, relevant parties are notified, and appropriate records are kept.
- Identify instances of neglect/abuse, investigate, and remedy.
Quality
- Ensure that the operating environment for repair and maintenance policies, procedures, and work processes is designed to provide high-quality, error-free service.
- Monitor performance measures relevant to the conduct of Service Department activities and review targets for each measure.
- Oversee the Supplier Quality Assurance program supporting suppliers who adhere to our quality service requirements.
- Compile and implement a system of preferred suppliers and document requirements with them.
- Comply with fleet policies and procedures.
- Ensure fleet image is maintained in accordance with the fleet livery guide.
- Understand Singapore and Malaysia commercial vehicle licensing requirements.
Finance
- Ensure that the service department contributes to generating a level of profitability that provides shareholders with an optimum return on their investment and associated risks.
- Achieve annual budgets related to fleet management.
- Review and test new products that may reduce fleet costs.
Qualifications
- Degree in fleet maintenance or equivalent.
- Extensive hands-on experience across a broad range of transport/logistics operations.
- Basic computing skills.
- At least 2-3 years of relevant experience.
