Job description
About this position

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to provide maternity cover, working within a dynamic, and fast-paced international company in the subscription and advisory space.This individual will be responsible for overseeing our APAC region operation and management of the regional team based in Sydney, Japan, India and Singapore.

You will manage and grow a high-performing APAC team, overviewing and enhancing the financial reporting. You will be the key contact person in the region for all financial matters.

A highly motivated individual with the ability to work proactively and independently, you must be able to communicate at all levels and across functions. This role will report into the Head of Finance Operations, based in Oxford, UK.

Key responsibilities
  • Responsible for the end-to- end accounting processes across the APAC entities
  • Manage monthly and year end close processes and reporting for APAC entities
  • Manage a remote team in Sydney and Gurugram
  • Ensure timely filing of local financial statements and tax filings alongside external accountants
  • Support Group Finance team on the external group financial audit and preparation of relevant APAC audit schedules
  • Control key company expenditures, such as travel expense claims and other overheads
  • Ensure adherence to the Procure to Pay company standard policies
  • Work with Head of Finance Operations and Head of Group Reporting to provide management commentary on actual performance against plan and proactively work to resolve any issues that needfurther investigation
  • Commercial reporting on project milestones, profitability, and revenue activity
  • Commercial and operational understanding and the ability to advise on ad hoc issues for our Commercial sales team
  • Stakeholder management, including experience of partnering and demonstrating gravitas and strong advisory skills
What we are looking for
Required attributes
  • Degree educated or Qualified Accountant – ACCA/CIMA/ACA (or equivalent)
  • 7–9 years of relevant commercial finance experience
  • Strong Excel skills, knowledge of Power BI would be beneficial
  • A highly motivated individual with the ability to work proactively and independently
  • Experience of strong people management and mentoring
  • Ability to work with and effectively communicate with stakeholders across multiple time zones
  • Effective professional communication and organisation skills. Self-motivated, resilient, and a capacity to work under pressure
Desirable attributes
  • Advisory/Consulting or Subscriptions based industry experience
  • Previous experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (ERP)
  • Experience of managing remote teams
