Reporting Responsibility to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Singapore Branch
Overview of Duties

The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing the financial operations and regulatory compliance of the Singapore branch and its associated entities in Labuan, Dubai, and Thailand Representative Office. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and adherence to local and international regulatory requirements, supporting strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

Job Description
1. Regulatory and Statutory Reporting
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory reporting as well as annual financial statements for all entities under scope.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and local GAAP requirements across jurisdictions.
  • Manage and provide variance analysis to senior management.
  • Ensure reporting deadlines set by HG-I, MAS, and local branch management are all met.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments to processes.
  • Review and oversee the preparation of Reporting packages to HG-I.
  • Oversee the local Management reporting on quarterly/ yearly basis.
  • Preparation of Singapore MIS for the Branch to assess its business performance and operating results.
  • Prepare evaluation and improvements required.
  • Monitoring the Solvency Margin to be maintained at adequate levels at all times.
  • Oversee the taxation for local statutory quarterly and annual reporting and filing, including GST
  • Ensure annual audit process is carried out smoothly and timely so that Annual returns and financial statements can be finalised and submitted to authorities before the deadlines.
  • Implement rectification of issues raised and recommended by the Auditors, to ensure adequate internal controls are in place within Finance Department.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes for all offices.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business planning and growth strategies.
3. Treasury & Cash Management
  • Manage liquidity and capital adequacy across all entities.
  • Oversee investment activities and ensure compliance with group policies and local regulations.
4. Credit Control Oversight
  • Manage the Credit Control department to ensure timely collection of premiums and other receivables.
  • Develop and enforce credit policies and procedures to minimise bad debts and optimise working capital.
  • Monitor ageing reports and implement strategies to reduce overdue balances
Key Competencies Requirement
  • Minimum 8-10 years of Finance experience, preferably in insurance related industry.
  • Relevant Accounting/ Finance professional or equivalent qualifications.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and local regulatory frameworks in Singapore, Labuan and Dubai.
  • Proven track record in managing financial reporting.
