A biotech firm in Singapore is seeking a Finance Manager responsible for overseeing all finance and accounting operations. Candidates should have at least 6 years of experience in E-Commerce or Biotech, with strong skills in financial reporting and a solid understanding of Net-Suites ERP. This role requires a resourceful, detail-oriented individual who can work independently and under pressure.

Qualifications

  • Preferably 3 years listed group experience in Pharma/Biotech and/or cosmeceutical industries.
  • Big 10 Accounting Firm trained.

Job description
Overview

CellResearch Corporation Pte Ltd ("CRC") was incorporated in 2002 for Contract Research and Skin/Cell sales. With the discovery of Cord Lining Stem Cells ("CLSC") in 2004, patent applications were filed over the years to safeguard our technology. A subsidiary of CellResearch Corporation; Cordlabs Pte Ltd was incorporated in 2005 to commercialise CLSC banking which expands our portfolio in the cord banking business. To diversify our portfolio further, we have harnessed our knowledge in stem cells technology and developed skin care products for the cosmeceuticals market and resulted in the founding of CellResearch Consumer Health in 2013. Since then, we have marketed our skin care products under the brand Calecim and Sollagen in multiple territories through an omni-channel approach. Additional business activities which CRC are involved in are in the commercialisation of therapeutics products in the field of neurological sciences, skin and hair medical conditions.

Responsibilities
  1. Take charge together with CFO on all Finance & Accounting including optimisation and automation of processes.
  2. Prepare and maintain full sets of accounts, inventory management, forecast accounts receivables and payables utilising the Net-Suites ERP system to its full potential.
  3. Assist CFO in funding activities, budget, management reports and implement internal control systems;
  4. Supports creation of SOPs for accounting policy and regulations and roll-out reconciliation procedures
  5. Investigate and resolve discrepancies, documenting root causes and solutions.
  6. Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting processes.
  7. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, reporting by cost centres and/or departments.
  8. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  9. Liaise with auditors, company secretary and government authorities on statutory accounts and filing;
  10. Monthly / Quarterly GST and VAT returns
  11. Group year-end accounts, 1 holding company and 6 subsidiaries, 2 overseas.
  12. Import documents and foreign currency transactions.
  13. Perform ad-hoc analysis/ project as required.
  14. Other financial accounting tasks as prescribed by CFO.
Requirements

The candidate must possess the following qualities:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent, CPA or ACCA preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience (preferably in E-Commerce, Retail, Biotech industry) and preferably 3 years listed group experience in Pharma/Biotech and/or cosmeceutical industries.
  • Big 10 Accounting Firm trained.
  • Practical knowledge of Net-Suites ERP system will be highly valued.
  • Independent, resourceful, hands-on, self-motivated, proactive, positive mindset and able to meet set timelines
  • Strong in process re-engineering and data management
  • Singapore corporate tax and GST detailed knowledge
  • Detail-oriented with good organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Good teamwork and self-motivated as well as being able to work independently.
