Job description

Mediacorp is Singapore's largest content creator and national media network that operates radio stations. The role exists to entertain and inform audiences by presenting information and/or entertainment in an accessible and engaging way from on-the-go listening of top tunes to in-depth podcasts. This aligns to the company mission of creating engaging and trusted content as well as connect and inspire our communities.

Scope of the role

The role will entertain and inform audiences by presenting information and/or entertainment in an accessible and engaging way.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare for and perform for specified air shift duties and complete all production assignments. Ensuring good ratings for the station.

  • Adhere to the advertising and programme code set by the regulator(s). Follow strictly on station programming guidelines and SOPs. Able to make quick decisions and actions to move away from sensitive issues before it becomes out of bound.

  • Follow station programming guidelines and time belts.

  • Conduct research on topics/themes to be discussed on the show that resonates with the station's target audience. Integrates information from diverse sources, often involving large amount of information.

  • Presents ideas and message effectively to the listeners.

  • Work with Programme Director & Senior Programme Executive to plan seasonal or thematic show/promo ideas, audience engagement during high-profile events (e.g. holidays, concerts, etc.).

  • Constantly think of ideas to elevate the listener experience and align with the station's objectives.

  • Work with the programming team (Programme Director & Senior Programme Executive) and sales department to produce sponsorable content, integrate client messaging creatively into shows, and brainstorm innovative ways to monetize content that aligns with the station's branding and resonates with the audience.

  • Complete all production/reporting assignments and fulfil all assigned weekend shift/duties and appearance obligations.

  • Ability to host onsite shows.

  • On-Air and Off-Air Brand Ambassador - Represent the station at events, concerts, and promotional activities, helping to strengthen the station's community presence and brand identity.

  • Together with the Content Producer from SMP team - contribute, create & maintain engaging, branded content for station's social media platforms (primarily Instagram & Facebook) to build a broader online presence for the show.

  • Develop a presence on social media by upkeeping regular postings.

  • Take on additional duties other than on-air presentation as and when required. Eg. Serve as the primary backup to the Music Director, stepping into the role during MD's absence.

Qualifications
  • Possess at least 'A' Level or Diploma in any discipline

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in Radio Broadcasting

  • Good proficiency in English language in order to host English program

  • A strong keen interest in entertainment and music

  • keep abreast with current English entertainment industry and local happenings

  • Mastery of use of studio equipment for on and off air production

  • Research skills

  • Ability to think on feet to handle difficult audience responses

  • Excellent command in the language of the programming group
