Role Overview

This role is a key addition to the Events & Engagement team, which plays a central part in delivering high profile events, stakeholder collaborations, and member engagement initiatives.

As part of a lean team, you will provide hands‑on support in event management, committee coordination, and stakeholder outreach. You will have opportunities to contribute ideas, take ownership of projects, and develop your expertise in stakeholder engagement, programme design, and organisational processes.

This role is well‑suited for someone who enjoys building relationships, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and takes pride in delivering meaningful experiences for members and partners.

Key Responsibilities
1. Committee & Secretariat Support
  • Coordinate and manage committee and chapter meetings, including agenda preparation, logistics, documentation, and minutes
  • Support the Chairs and members to ensure productive discussions and follow‑up on action items.
  • Assist to develop annual event plans and monitor progress.
2. Events and Member Engagement
  • Plan, organise and execute events (in‑person, hybrid, and virtual) that strengthen member value, collaboration and learning.
  • Work closely with a range of stakeholders from start‑ups and non‑profits to corporate leaders and industry partners to identify needs and co‑create relevant engagement opportunities.
  • Conduct pre‑ and post‑event evaluations, gather feedback, and prepare reports to improve future programmes.
  • Track and monitor KPIs, budgets, and timelines to ensure high‑quality delivery.
  • Maintain proper and accurate database records and documentation, event closing reports including claims submission.
  • Note: Some events may be held on weekday evenings (average: 3 sessions per month).
3. Communications & Outreach
  • Develop event and programme communication plans to ensure clarity and consistency of messages. Collaborate with the marketing team to design promotional campaigns, event collaterals, and newsletters.
  • Assist in developing engaging content for social media, ensuring visibility and outreach to members and partners.
  • Strengthen SID’s profile by highlighting the impact of initiatives and success stories.
4. Process Improvement & Compliance
  • Support the Events & Engagement team in refining workflows and strengthening operational processes.
  • Contribute to SID’s compliance with internal standards and external requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation in member engagement and propose improvements.
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in any discipline.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in membership‑based organisations, professional associations, trade bodies, or government agencies, ideally with exposure to event and programme management.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage senior leaders, board directors, and C‑suite executives.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, content, and correspondence.
  • Tech‑savvy, with working knowledge of event platforms, CRM systems, or digital tools for communication and outreach.
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset, with initiative to contribute ideas and adaptability to support changing priorities.
  • Passion for building meaningful engagement and commitment to high professional standards.
