Job summary

A leading testing laboratory in Singapore is looking for a manager/executive chemist to oversee the Food and Pharmaceutical testing team. The role involves managing lab operations, developing analytical methods, and directly interfacing with customers for technical support. Candidates should hold a Masters/PhD in Chemistry with at least 2 years of experience, preferably in food testing. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and be familiar with ISO 17025 and GMP environments.

Job description

As manager/executive chemist, you will assist in managing the Food and Pharmaceutical testing team, oversee the lab operations and handle customer enquiries with technical aspects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage or assist to manage the team in the Food and Pharmaceutical Testing section to conduct laboratory evalution and analysis of Food and Pharmaceutical samples
• Review test date and prepare test reports
• Develop and validate analytical methods
• Interface with customers to address technical enquiries and provide ongoing technical support and follow-up
• Oversee the proper maintenance of analytical instruments

Requirements

• Masters/PhD in Chemistry or its equivalent, fresh post-graduates are welcome to apply
• Food testing experience is preferred
• At least 2 years of hands-on working experience in laboratory preferably with experience in operating HPLC
• Looking for dynamic individual with proven leadership experience
• Familiar with working in ISO 17025 certified testing laboratory and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) will be an advantage
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive team player but with the ability to work independently in challenging projects and timelines
