Job summary

A local welfare centre in Singapore is seeking an entry-level candidate to oversee resident care. The role involves setting up individual care plans, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing counselling services. Ideal candidates will have a Diploma or Degree and possess strong communication skills. The position requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. A 5-day work week is expected.

Job description
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure that residents comply with the Centre’s Rules and Regulations.
  • Setting up of Individual Care Plan for all residents
  • Responsible for the Clinical Intervention components in the Centre (include counselling and caring services).
  • Assist in ensuring safe custody of residents
  • Work closely with other departments/government agencies/schools in relation to the welfare of residents
  • Ensure that the security measures are adequate in the Centre.
  • Assist Deputy Head of Home in submission of reports of all serious incidents and occurrences of unusual and serious nature pertaining to staff and residents to the Home’s Management Committee.
  • Work in close liaison with law enforcement, welfare regulators and other related agencies.
  • Interview and assess all residents upon admission and discharge.
  • Prepare reports for submission timely and submit for vetting by the Deputy Head of Home.
  • Ensure that all records, accounts, documents and correspondence are properly maintained, kept current and up-to-date.
  • Facilitate applications and renewals of Medical Fee Exemption Cards for all residents
  • Facilitate the application and disbursement of the School Pocket Money Fund for the residents.
  • Facilitate group counselling, family sessions, one-to-one sessions and maintain case recordings.
  • Facilitate home/school/employment visits and other significant tasks
  • Work closely with the residents and their family for successful reintegration back to caregiver
  • Responsible for the development of the Centre
  • Provide support to the Operations of the centre
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Head of the Home, Licensee and Governing Board
  • Responsible to lodge a Police report when necessary
