Job description

SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and proactive SMT Equipment Engineer to manage and maintain all equipment involved in the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production process. This position focuses on equipment performance, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement to support high-yield, high-efficiency PCB assembly operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Install, configure, and qualify new SMT production equipment (e.g., screen printers, pick-and-place, reflow ovens, SPI).
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on SMT machines to minimize downtime and maintain production quality.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and software-related machine issues.
  • Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), MTBF, MTTR, and implement improvements to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Work with process and production engineers to support line setup, changeovers, and NPI builds.
  • Develop and maintain machine documentation, checklists, and service records.
  • Support calibration of SMT-related tools and feeders.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors on spare parts, upgrades, and technical support.
  • Implement 5S, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Ensure all SMT equipment complies with ESD, safety, and IPC standards.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
  • 4–6+ years’ experience in SMT or PCBA manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of SMT machines.
  • Well verse on ISO 134854- Medical requirements. (Will be advantage)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, and control. systems.
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and machine manuals.
