Jacobs Singapore is hiring an Environmental Consultant to support EIA and EMMP delivery across infrastructure and development projects in Singapore. The role focuses on straightforward EMMP inspections, general environmental compliance, and ecological support, particularly for terrestrial and mangrove-adjacent environments.

The position is intended as a supporting and coordinating role for EIA Project Managers and senior specialists. The Consultant is expected to independently conduct routine EMMP inspections, while more complex ecological or high-risk matters are managed by senior staff or specialist sub-consultants.

Key Responsibilities

1. EMMP Inspections and Environmental Compliance

  • Conduct routine EMMP inspections for construction projects, focusing on straightforward scopes.
  • Review site compliance related to:
    • ecological protection measures,
    • air quality and dust control,
    • noise management,
    • water quality and sediment control.
  • Identify common environmental and ecological non-compliances and raise them to the Project Manager.
  • Support follow-up and close-out of corrective actions with contractors.

2. Ecological and EIA Support

  • Support terrestrial ecology components of EIA studies, including site walkovers and baseline information gathering.
  • Provide basic input on mangrove or coastal-terrestrial habitats, under the guidance of senior ecologists where required.
  • Assist in identifying potential ecological and environmental impacts for straightforward projects.
  • Support the preparation of EIA documentation, figures, tables, and appendices.

3. General Environmental Knowledge Application

  • Apply general environmental controls knowledge during site inspections and EIA support, including:
    • dust and air quality management,
    • construction noise controls,
    • surface water and runoff management.
  • Recognise when issues fall outside routine scope and elevate appropriately.

4. Project Coordination and Support

  • Support EIA Project Managers with coordination of:
    • site access and inspections,
    • sub-consultant inputs,
    • internal technical reviews.
  • Maintain inspection records, photographs, and tracking logs.
  • Prepare clear, concise inspection reports and summary notes for project teams.
What Success Looks Like in This Role
  • Routine EMMP inspections are carried out reliably and reported clearly.
  • Environmental and ecological issues are identified early and escalated appropriately.
  • EIA Project Managers receive effective day‑to‑day support.
  • The Consultant grows steadily in confidence, site judgement, and technical understanding.
