Overview

Project Engineer (Construction)

Play a pivotal role in the planning, design, and execution of construction projects. Work closely with project managers, architects, and other engineering professionals to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with industry standards and regulations. Responsibilities
  • Project Planning: Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and timelines. Develop detailed project plans and schedules.
  • Design and Engineering: Prepare and review civil engineering designs, drawings, and specifications. Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Construction Oversight: Supervise and coordinate construction activities, including site preparation, earthwork, foundation construction, and infrastructure installation. Monitor project progress and quality.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the preparation of project budgets and cost estimates. Track project expenditures and make recommendations for cost control.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure that construction work meets established standards and specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce a culture of safety on the construction site. Monitor and address safety concerns and incidents.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, including architects, contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including project records, reports, and correspondence.
  • Client Relations: Foster positive relationships with clients and provide regular project updates. Address client concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all construction activities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards and codes.
Key Activities
  • Project planning, coordination, execution and monitoring of all works on site
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities and resolving problems
  • Prepare and update all site reports and monitor progress of project
  • Ensure civil and structural requirements meet project submission and project schedule
  • Managing the work activities of the sub-contractors, supervisors and workers
  • Liaise with sub-contractors, relevant authorities and consultants.
  • Maintain quality standards, carry out site inspections and resolve technical issues on time.
Job Requirements
  • Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering or related qualifications preferably recognized by the PE Board
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experiences in the construction industry
  • Meticulous, independent and able to work within tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
