Job Description

The Education Associate I (Procedural Skills) is a junior level educator who provides essential instructional support and operational coordination within the Clinical Performance Centre (CPC). The primary focus of this position is to facilitate student mastery of foundational procedural skills and to ensure the seamless execution of teaching activities.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Instructional Support and Skills Facilitation
    • Skills Instruction: Assist faculty and instructors in delivering procedural skills workshops and practice sessions, providing guidance and support to medical students.
    • Practice Supervision: Coordinate and oversee self-directed student practice sessions to ensure proper use of task trainers and adherence to safe learning practices.
    • Learning Resource Maintenance: Assist in the organization and periodic update of instructional materials and digital learning resources.
  • Curriculum Support and Technical Coordination
    • Laboratory Preparation: Coordinate the physical setup and breakdown of teaching environments, including task trainers and the preparation of medical consumables.
    • Simulation Assistance: Provide operational support during simulation-based education, including logistics, physical setup and breakdown of teaching environments, and assist faculty during active scenarios.
    • Equipment Stewardship: Collaborate with the Simulation Technologist to perform routine inspections of task trainers and medical equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
    • Inventory Control: Monitor the consumption of clinical supplies and maintain organized records to assist in procurement and resource management.
  • Assessment and Academic Support
    • Facilitate the administrative and logistical requirements of student assessments such as the Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).
    • Provide support to other educational initiatives as required, contributing to a dynamic and responsive educational environment.
    • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein or assigned by the reporting officer, which may occasionally include weekends and after office hours (time off in lieu will be given).
Qualifications
