Job summary

A leading educational institution in Singapore is seeking an experienced officer to manage student disciplinary and security concerns. The ideal candidate will have experience with the Singapore Police Force or similar agencies, possess a valid first-aid certification, and be willing to engage with youth in a school setting. Key responsibilities include investigating student infractions, case management, and collaborating with external agencies for crisis management. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years’ experience as ex-Singapore Police Force (SPF), Prisons or Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) Officer in investigation operations.
  • Must have at least 1 year experience in student case management and investigation in educational institutions.
  • Willing to work with youth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute disciplinary and/or security concerns and issues related to students.
  • Review existing policies and their effectiveness in managing discipline.
  • Coordinate and manage bi-weekly disciplinary hearings.
  • Act as liaison officer to external agencies during crisis management operations.

Job description
Working Hours
  • Employees may be scheduled to work within a flexible range of hours between8:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., with shifts typically running from8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.or1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., depending on operational needs.
Requirement
  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience as ex-Singapore Police Force (SPF), Prisons or Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) Officer in investigation operations.
  • Must have at least 1 year experience in student case management and investigation in educational institutions.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, and willing to learn other IT skills.
  • Willing to work with youth.
  • Have valid standard first-aid certification with CPR-AED prior to commencement of work
  • Relevant qualification and/or experience in the field of counselling (minimally para-counsellor) will be an advantage.
Key Roles

1. Manage and execute disciplinary and / or security concerns and issues which includebut are not limited to:

  • Investigating student-related disciplinary infractionsas and whenrequired.
  • Working closely with students to help them understandtheir mistakes and take responsibility for their actions.
  • Case management.
  • Present findings to the RP SDCor any other forums as decided by RP.
  • Ensuring that sanctions meted to students are completed.
  • Following up with student offenders through counselling and obtaining feedback on student progress from academic staff.
  • Referring students to other internal and/or external agencies for furtherassistance(ifrequired).
  • Supporting both the RP SDC and the School SDC (or anyother forums as decided by RP), and RP staff in student-relateddiscipline/ emergency situationson campus.

2. Work closely with RP toassistin the review of all disciplinerelated procedures/programmes such as:

  • Reviewing existing policies and their effectiveness.
  • Working together on discipline systems to better manage cases, generate data and increase holistic support of students.
  • Proposing & adopting preventive measures and programmes.

3. Manage and collate disciplinary statistics & present findings to RP Managementand perform administrative duties. It also includes coordinating:

  • Bi-weekly (or otherwise as decided by RP) disciplinaryhearings for the RP SDCor any other forums as decided byRPandminute taking.
  • Database management & input of student records via RP IT System.
  • Drafting letters to students and Next of Kin (NOK) ondisciplinary matters.
  • Manning of Discipline mailbox and any form of communication tools assigned by RP.
  • Ad-hoc patrol around the campus.

4. Work closely with RP to coordinate RP’s Crisis Management operations (e.g. Crisis Management Exercise, Community Engagement Programme)

  • Act as RP’s liaison officer to external agencies suchas CNB,HSA,NParks, SPF, SCDF,NEA, etc.
