The Airspace Mobility Solutions (AMS) business, part of the Global Business Unit Land and Air Systems, provides leading edge Air Traffic Management (ATM), Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM), Security and Digital Aviation solutions for the Commercial and Defence sectors.
The AMS business manages 11% of the world's airspace and with revenues of over 500 million Euros worldwide, is a global market leader in airspace management solutions. In Singapore, the business focuses on the delivery and support of key ATM solutions. This role is responsible for leading the Functional Team consisting of Systems, Infrastructure, and Speciality engineers.
ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
This role is responsible for leading the Functional Team consisting of Systems, Infrastructure, and Speciality engineers. The Discipline Manager is accountable for enhancing engineering practices, developing team capability, and ensuring the effective application of engineering disciplines across projects to meet business objectives.
- Improve the engineering discipline practices (process and tools)
- Strengthen our focus on people development
- Ensure the sharing and capitalisation of knowledge across the organisation
- Enforce balance between engineering discipline and delivery
KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Discipline Manager, you are accountable for:
- Contribute and support the Engineering Manager in building a clear vision and direction for Engineering initiatives and communicate to the team
- Contribute to the Systems, Infrastructure and Speciality Engineering Discipline Governance
- Define and tailor discipline practices (process and tools)
- Ensure the capitalisation and sharing of knowledge
- Contribute to the discipline efficiency plan to increase business competitiveness
- Promote adoption of new technologies
- Be responsible for the engineering discipline cost model definition and updates
- Assess skills required for current and future projects needs including future discipline trends
- Development / upskilling of the team and career management
- Conduct strategic workforce planning including the provision of resources to fulfil current and future bid and project needs
- Roll‑out Make Team Buy strategy for the forecasted workload (incoming activities)
- Define and Manage Hiring strategy and recruitment, onboarding
- Foster collaboration with other disciplines to define multi‑discipline solutions with added value
- Foster an innovation and entrepreneurship culture

Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, IT or related discipline
- Postgraduate studies in Systems Engineering is advantageous.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in Systems Engineering lifecycle management (10+ years) including: Requirements, Design, Integration and Verification and Validation
- Proven experience in the development of products and projects in a variety of methodologies, with a particular focus on iterative/agile development
- Proven experience (5+ years) in managing and coaching staff
- Demonstrated ability to achieve effective outcomes in a multidiscipline, multi‑culture environment
- Experience with Safety, Security and Human Factors standards and practices
- Experience with Infrastructure design processes
- Experience with Network design and deployment processes
- Ability to develop and promote high performing teams
- Develop and foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Coaching and sharing of knowledge and expertise
- Ability to engage senior stakeholders having different objectives
- Accountability, transparency and curiosity
- A positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.
