The Director, Business Development leads the School’s strategic growth in student enrolment, market expansion, and brand positioning. The role oversees the Business Development & Marketing function ensuring effective student recruitment, marketing and service delivery that enhance the School’s long-term sustainability. As a key member of the senior management team, this position contributes to strategic planning, policy formulation and the achievement of corporate goals in alignment with SFMS’s mission and regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement a multi-year business growth and enrolment strategy, aligned with the School’s strategic plan.
Identify new markets, partnerships, and business opportunities to grow local and international student enrolment.
Analyse market trends and competitor activities to refine SFMS’s unique selling propositions.
Lead annual enrolment and revenue forecasting exercises, presenting updates and strategies to the Management and Board.
Build, strengthen, manage agent networks and institutional partnerships both locally and internationally.
Identify and develop collaborations with educational partners, corporations and community organizations to expand market reach.
Evaluate and manage agent performance through structured reviews and performance contracts.
Lead integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print and events platforms to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
Champion the School’s identity, value proposition, unique selling propositions and differentiators through impactful storytelling and public relations.
Oversee all marketing materials and online content, ensuring brand consistency and adherence to CPE regulations.
Establish student recruitment and revenue targets by market segment and monitor performance regularly.
Manage departmental budgets effectively and ensure cost efficiency in marketing and recruitment activities.
Lead and motivate teams to deliver performance excellence.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and accountability within the teams.
Develop team capabilities through coaching and training.
Ensure adherence to CPE, EduTrust and school policies across marketing and admissions functions.
Support external audits and provide accurate reporting on enrolment, revenue, and compliance metrics.
A recognised Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing or a related field
At least 15 years of progressive experience in business development and marketing in China market and other international markets
Proven track record of driving revenue growth, developing new markets and leading cross-functional teams
Experience in strategic planning, branding and partnership management across local and international contexts
Strong understanding of CPE/EduTrust regulations, experience in international student recruitment and agent management is advantageous
Demonstrated capability in digital marketing, CRM systems and data-driven decision-making
Strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to translate insights into actionable growth strategies
High level of business acumen, planning and financial forecasting abilities
Results-oriented, driven and entrepreneurial with a growth mindset
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills across internal departments, agents and partners
Excellent leadership and people management skills; able to inspire, coach and develop teams
