What we need:

We are seeking a highly experienced and seasoned investment professional with extensive experience in data center or real estate M&A, strategic transactions and joint ventures to join as Director, Investments in our Investments and Corporate Development team.

This is a high impact platform role responsible for end‑to‑end ownership of several investment projects across an extensive portfolio of data centre projects and targets throughout Asia.

Reporting to Head of Investments, the Director will partner closely with Design, Engineering, Customer Sales, Finance teams and provide investment direction and align communications with internal and external stakeholders in a fast paced and regionally distributed environment.

This role, based in Singapore, will also drive pipeline development and partnership opportunities across the region and explore new targets for growth and expansion.

Key responsibilities:
Transaction Execution and Deal Management
  • Lead the end‑to‑end transaction process – from target identification, due diligence, valuation, structuring, negotiation, and closing.
  • Manage internal and external advisors (banks, legal, technical, tax, and environmental consultants)
  • Drive comprehensive analysis including financial modelling, tax structuring, commercial evaluation, and business plan development (including customer dependencies).
  • Present investment recommendations and insights to senior stakeholders and the Investment Committee and prepare investment committee materials and board papers.
Project Control and Executive Reporting
  • Oversee investment plans, customer discussions and commitments, cost and schedule control, and risk management processes across active and planned projects.
  • Provide actionable insights to support capital planning, resource allocation, and strategic decision‑making.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance, audit standards, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
New Opportunity Sourcing and Market Intelligence
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of greenfield and partnership opportunities, with a particular focus on Japan and other growth markets.
  • Manage the full investment lifecycle — from site identification and acquisition to transaction structuring and development execution.
  • Maintain an informed perspective on industry trends, competitor moves, and market demand drivers to guide strategic expansion.
Strategic and financial planning for the portfolio
  • Support corporate development in strategic planning, fundraising, and portfolio optimization.
  • Conduct benchmarking and valuation analyses for comparable transactions and peers.
  • Provide input on capital allocation, JV structures, and asset monetization options.
  • Take a holistic view of the region, managing multiple concurrent projects collaboratively across the portfolio.
  • Ensure alignment of transaction structures with long‑term operational and financial goals.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with design, operations, and finance teams to validate assumptions and assess feasibility and align development programs with business goals, customer requirements, and long‑term capacity planning.
  • Serve as the key central coordination point and drive investment decisions and communications to senior management as well as ground teams.
  • Lead post‑project reviews and continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, transparency, and execution consistency.
Active asset management
  • Monitor post‑acquisition performance, manage advisors, and resolve operational or contractual issues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with JV partners, brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure delivery of project objectives.
  • Uphold company standards on health, safety, environment, information security, and quality, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Candidate Profile
  • 7–10 years of experience in private equity, infrastructure investing, or corporate development — ideally within data centers, renewables, logistics, or energy with a strong track record of successful investment deals.
  • Proven track record in greenfield project origination and execution, including due diligence and JV structuring.
  • Deep financial modeling and valuation skills; comfort with regulatory and technical aspects of large‑scale developments.
  • Strong relationship management across developers, joint venture partners, and capital partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external.
