Job summary

A leading gem and jewellery firm in Singapore is seeking a Gemmologist Specialist/Manager to lead gemstone identification and grading, client consultations, and procurement. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in the luxury retail sector and possess gemmologist certification (GIA, FGA preferred). This full-time role offers a competitive starting salary of SGD 5000 to 7000, along with bonuses, and is located near Orchard MRT.

Job description

• Position: Gemmologist Specialist / Manager
• Industry: Precious Gemstones, Rare Gem, Diamonds Collections
• 5.5 Work Days, 9-6pm (Mon to Fri) , 9am to 1pm Saturday
• Sunday & PH are off.
• Office near Orchard MRT (Private Sales Gallery & Office)
• Starting Salary: $5000 to $7000 + Bonus

Requirements

1. Minimum 5+ years working experience in the retail luxury industry, preferable in a jewellery field.
2. Certified Gemmologist (GIA, FGA or other relevant certification) will be added advantage.
3. Experience in gem identification, diamond grading. jewellery appraisal or gemological services is a plus.

Gem Identification and Grading

1. Utilize advanced gemmological instruments and techniques to accurately identify and grade
2. gemstones, including diamonds, coloured gemstones and pearls

Client Consultation

1. Provide expert advice to clients on gemstone selection, care and investment.
2. Assist in the selection of gemstone for jewellery design and creation

Procurement

1. Sourcing and procurement of gemstones.
2. Inventory Management Maintain accurate records of gemstone inventory
3. Monitor gemstone markets trends and advise on potential investments

Production

1. Cordinate with designers and workshop on new product development.
