A leading maritime management company in Singapore is seeking a Deputy General Manager to ensure the safety operations of managed boats. Responsibilities include overseeing fleet activities, updating the Safety Management System, and ensuring compliance with maritime laws. Candidates must have a Class 1 Master Mariner's license, experience with the ISM system, and a solid understanding of marine safety matters. Qualifications

  • Must be a Class 1 Master Mariner with at least two years sailing experience.
  • Experience with International Safety Management (ISM) system is required.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and 9001 standards.
  • Knowledge of marine safety regulations and practices.

  • Ensure safety operations of managed boats adhere to all international requirements.
  • Oversee fleet's maritime and safety activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The major responsibility of the role is ensuring the safety operations of the managed boats and adherence to all international marine requirements. Oversee and put the Safety Management System into practice.
  • Overall supervisor of the fleet's maritime and safety activities.
  • Cultivates and encourages a culture of ongoing improvement in order to achieve organisational goals.
  • Keep the Safety Management System (SMS) up to date to guarantee accurate, effective, and high-quality processes.
  • Control adherence to risk management procedures, policies, and frameworks.
  • Supervise the adherence of ships to laws and regulations.
  • Make workflow modifications to increase productivity.

Requirements:

  • Class 1 Master Mariners who have sailed bulk carriers for at least two years.
  • Experience with the ISM system as a Designated Person Ashore
  • Acquainted with ISO 14001 and 9001
  • Wide understanding of marine safety matters along with professional expertise in related domains.
  • Majors' experience with ship vetting, ship operations, and terminal operations
  • A strong feeling of accountability, initiative, and travel readiness
