A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Data Manager specializing in information management. The role involves overseeing the Engineering Project Data Management functions, facilitating data collection, and coordinating with engineering teams to ensure accurate data handling. Candidates should possess a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and experience in offshore/onshore Oil & Gas projects, alongside strong SQL and database management skills. This position requires the ability to lead a team and provide effective guidance in data management practices.
Responsible for the Engineering Project Data Management functions but not limited to collection and management of information from one or more sources and the distribution of that information to one or more audiences. Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices. Provide guidance to less experienced team members.
Responsible for Project Data Management Functions but not limited to configuration and implementation of Engineering Datawarehouse (Smart Plant Foundation/Aveva Engineering & ISM) and Data Exchange interfaces from various Engineering authoring tools to the DataWarehouse and perform regular data exchange functions and maintain the same during the course of the project.
Configuration and Implementation of Tag and Data progress measurement
Configuration and Implementation of Tag/Data Register Exports
Understand the client and internal project requirements for data collection, conditioning, reporting and turnover.
Facilitate the setup and configuration of the data repositories to meet the project requirements.
Coordinate with the project discipline leads in the definition of applications to be used and data to be generated, collected and disseminated.
Manage the data interfaces between engineering applications and the data repositories across internal and external locations, as appropriate.
Coordinate with project disciplines to resolve any data inconsistencies, errors or mapping issues which may arise.
Coordinate the resolution of Tagging queries/issues which may arise from project disciplines.
Perform data cleanup as required to ensure accurate consistent data is available from the data repositories.
Export data from repositories as needed to feed other applications, locations or users.
Export data in format and scope required to meet contractual deliverables to the client.
Undertake Vendor Data review from a Data collection perspective.
Train and support the project team in the use of data management tools development and reporting.
Manage project close out and shutdown for the data management systems and applications.
To support the detailed engineering design effort by the use of standard tools, as well as support the project close-out and turn-over effort
To support andmanage the flow of data to the Client
To follow the contractual requirements for information/data turnover to assure a seamless transfer of information to Client
1. Systemic Understanding/Implementation of Project Execution.
2. Development execution plans for various facets of Data Management functions and drive adoption to projects.
3. Leading a team of Data controllers and providing guidance
4. In depth understanding of Class library, Naming Rules, Attribute data definition
5. In depth understanding of Tagging Philosophy, Development and Implementation of Data collection and validation methods, Development and Implementation of Data exchange interfaces, Development of Tag and Data Progression Plan, Configuration and Implementation of Data Exports and metrics reporting, Configuration and Implementation of Engineering and Supplier Tag & Data Management, Configuration and Implementation of Engineering software systems & tools
