Job description
Job Responsibilities
  • Manage engineering project data, including collecting information from multiple sources and distributing it to relevant stakeholders.
  • Configure and implement engineering data warehouse systems (e.g., SmartPlant Foundation, Aveva Engineering, Aveva ISM) and data exchange interfaces between engineering tools and the data warehouse.
  • Set up and maintain tag and data progress measurement systems, as well as tag/data register exports.
  • Understand client and internal requirements for data collection, conditioning, reporting, and turnover.
  • Configure data repositories to meet project needs and coordinate with discipline leads on application usage and data flow.
  • Manage data interfaces between engineering applications and repositories across internal and external locations.
  • Resolve data inconsistencies, errors, mapping issues, and tagging queries in collaboration with project disciplines.
  • Perform data cleanup to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Export data for internal use and client deliverables in required formats.
  • Review vendor data for completeness and accuracy from a data collection perspective.
  • Train and support project teams on data management tools and reporting.
  • Oversee project close‑out activities for data management systems and ensure seamless data turnover to the client.
  • Support detailed engineering design and ensure compliance with contractual data turnover requirements.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Oil & Gas offshore/onshore projects with hands‑on involvement in project data management.
  • Strong understanding of project execution and ability to develop and implement data management plans.
  • Experience leading a team of data controllers and providing guidance.
  • In‑depth knowledge of:
    • Class libraries, naming rules, and attribute data definitions.
    • Tagging philosophy and implementation.
    • Data collection, validation, and exchange methods.
    • Tag and data progression planning.
    • Engineering and supplier tag/data management.
    • Engineering software systems and tools.
    • Proficiency in engineering data warehouse systems (SmartPlant Foundation, Aveva Engineering, Aveva ISM).
    • Strong skills in database management, SQL development, VBA, and SQL Server Reporting Services.
