Curatorial Research Assistant (Raffles Place)

he Curatorial Research Assistant will support the development of a large-scale exhibition on art and artefacts from the Mogao Grottoes, exploring the spread of Buddhist art across Asia. The role involves conducting research, assisting with curatorial and administrative tasks, and contributing to exhibition development and associated publications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research using primary and secondary sources, including Chinese materials.
  • Prepare text, bibliographies, captions, images, and footnotes for the exhibition and publications.
  • Support administrative tasks such as maintaining object lists, coordinating image copyrights, and filing documentation.
  • Liaise with internal and external partners, including vendors and designers.
  • Collaborate on exhibition narrative, presentation, and design.
  • Assist in producing multimedia materials, if applicable.
  • Support organization of lectures and educational activities related to the exhibition.
  • Contribute to publications from research to writing and printing.
  • Perform other exhibition and curatorial duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in English and Chinese, with the ability to conduct scholarly research in both languages.

Duration/Working hours:

  • 1 year contract
  • 42 hours per week
