Job description

The Credit Risk Manager will be part of the Credit Risk team under the purview of the Branch Chief Risk Officer (“CRO”) to manage the overall health of the loans portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate credit proposals, review credit reports so as to provide independent risk opinion for new and incremental credit limits, periodic credit reviews and waiver/amendment credit proposals, whilst ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory credit guidelines;
  • Collaborate with Business Units to conduct credit due diligence on existing/prospective clients including factory/site visits;
  • Continuous monitor and review existing credit risk exposures;
  • Provide risk guidance during credit/facility structuring stage, term sheet negotiation and in deal meetings to improve facility structure.
  • Conduct stress tests to determine the ability of the credit portfolio to withstand plausible severe adverse conditions, and recommend action plans.
  • To keep abreast of economic, sector and industry developments and trends that may affect the quality of the Branch’s loan portfolio.
  • Take on ad-hoc risk assignments as and when delegated by Team Leader, Credit Risk or Branch CRO.
Requirements
  • At least 15 years of relevant corporate credit experience in the Banking Industry, having covered large corporates and middle market client segments;
  • Good product knowledge in corporate lending, trade financing, specialised lending (transportation sector), and hedging/derivatives products;
  • Good industry knowledge in the Agricultural sector (including integrated plantation groups) would be an added advantage
  • Experience in credit risk governance matters, including credit portfolio reporting, reviewing credit related policies, credit stress testing, ECL reporting, ESG assessment and familiarity with local regulatory framework.
