Team Size: 15–20 designers + 5 new headcounts

Location: Singapore / Taiwan / Japan / Malaysia (flexible)

ROLE MISSION

Own the entire visual direction, UI quality, design system, and design team management across all WSG digital products.

Build a unified visual language and lead 2–3 sub‑teams to deliver consistently high-quality UI and graphic design output.

This role focuses purely on product visual and design system leadership not involved in marketing, advertising, or brand campaign creativity.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Design Team Leadership & Organization Building (Core)
  • Lead a 15–20 person design team and structure 2–3 groups (UI / Graphics / Components & Templates)
  • Develop workflows, planning processes, and delivery standards
  • Coach the team to improve aesthetics and professional skill levels
  • Identify and develop Team Leads to build a scalable design organization
  • Own hiring, interviewing, performance management, and talent development
  • Create a stable, collaborative, politics-free team culture
2. Product Visual Direction & UI Design System Development
  • Establish a consistent visual style across all digital products
  • Build the complete WSG Design System, including:
    • Color system
    • Typography & layout guidelines
    • Component libraries (buttons, cards, badges, navigation, layout, etc.)
    • UI templates and themed skins for multiple markets (SEA / Japan / LatAm)
  • Lead visual direction for critical product pages (VIP, Rewards, Wallet, Task Center, Home, etc.)
  • Modularize / template complex content to improve consistency & efficiency
  • Collaborate with Product to turn UX flows into tangible, visually polished UI
3. Graphic Design Framework & Output Quality Management
  • Oversee the visual direction for KV, entry graphics, promotional visuals, icons, and interface banners
  • Build a graphic template library to enhance production efficiency
  • Ensure stylistic consistency and strong visual identity across product surfaces
  • Maintain a clean, refined, layered, and modern visual tone
  • Review key deliverables to ensure alignment with product visual language
4. Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Product to drive visual enhancements
  • Work with Front-End Engineering to ensure designs are implementable and performance-friendly
  • Provide reliable design support according to business timelines
  • Remain focused on product visuals — not part of marketing creative workstreams
REQUIREMENTS
1. Professional Expertise
  • 8–15 years of UI / visual design experience
  • Minimum 3 years of managing 8–20 designers
  • Proven success in building a complete Design System (mandatory)
  • Mastery of Figma / Photoshop / Illustrator
  • Strong product-driven UI mindset (not purely advertising / poster-oriented)
  • Understanding of front-end implementation and design handoff
  • Strong sense of aesthetics, consistency, and visual judgment
2. Aesthetic Strength & Visual Direction
  • Modern, clean, systematic visual style
  • Familiar with SEA, East Asian, Japanese, and Western visual preferences
  • Ability to design “reward, points, collectible, gamified elements” in a premium, tasteful way (non-juvenile)
  • Skilled in modular, reusable, scalable visual languages
  • Able to define and adjust overall visual tone & system direction
3. Leadership & Communication
  • High emotional intelligence and strong cross-team communication skills
  • Able to stabilize team atmosphere and resolve conflicts
  • Focused on developing and enabling designers (not doing everything alone)
  • Willing to be hands‑on when needed
  • Capable of sustaining high‑quality output from a 15–20 person team
4. Personality Traits (Highly Important)
  • No politics or faction‑building
  • Mature, steady, and resilient
  • Results‑oriented and accountable
  • Collaborative, pragmatic, and easy to work with
  • Long‑term commitment; stable career mindset
  • Product‑focused, not “art‑for‑art” driven
Preferred Background (Bonus)
  • Experience with interactive digital products or consumer‑facing platforms
  • Multi‑market / multi‑language UI experience
  • Visual leadership for large B2C or SaaS products
  • Taiwan, Japan, or Singapore company background
  • Built a design system from 0→1
