Job summary

A manufacturing company in Singapore is looking for a Costing Engineer to manage manufacturing sequences, quotations, and order processing. Candidates should hold a degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, possess good communication skills, and demonstrate an understanding of precision machining processes. Experience is not mandatory, as training will be provided. This role offers an opportunity to be directly involved in supporting sales engineers and liaising with operations on high-profile orders.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering is required.
• Knowledge of precision machining processes in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.
• Candidates with no experience in Mechanical Engineering discipline are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Perform quotations based on customer’s BOM.
• Create manufacturing process routings and job completion in the ERP system.
• Liaise with vendors on order requirements.

Job description

This position is responsible for deciding the manufacturing sequence, routing, estimation, follow up on enquires and support Sales Engineer to win orders. The Costing Engineer is responsible to create job routings for confirmed orders in line with the quoted scope and customer bill of materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform quotations based on customer’s BOM.
• Perform order processing from quotation to delivery.
• Create manufacturing process routings and job completion in ERP system.
• Liaise with vendors on order requirements.
• Liaise with operations team on high profile sales order manufacturing plan.
• Accountable to Sales Engineers in order for them to support customer requirements and expectations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in mechanical engineering / manufacturing engineering (Diploma holders with similar industrial experience will be considered)
• Knowledge of precision machining processes in manufacturing environment is an advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-driven individual with a positive learning attitude.
• Excellent spreadsheet skills with basic knowledge in ERP systems.
