Job Title: AVP, Global Markets Legal Counsel Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support to markets and derivatives business in the head office and other global market branches and subsidiaries of the company.
  • Responsible for drafting and negotiating Master Agreements and other trading agreements, including related collateral agreements (ISDA, CSA, GMRA, GMSLA, TMA) with counterparties across various jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with and respond to queries related to Master Agreements from other functional specialists within the company to resolve legal, credit risk, operational, tax, and business issues, and obtain relevant approvals.
  • Ensure adherence to the company's documentation standards and maintain/update documentation templates and procedures.
  • Assist in the onboarding process by reviewing corporate capacity and authority documents from counterparties to ensure proper authority to trade treasury products with the company.
  • Work on regulatory-driven projects or company-initiated projects as required.
  • Collaborate with sales, structuring, and trading teams to review or develop derivatives products term sheets and structured investment solutions involving repack participation structures with different asset class underlying, when necessary.
  • Assist with reviewing general contract terms and conditions as needed.

Education and Experience Information:

  • Qualified lawyer with 4 to 6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Singapore or English qualified lawyer preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in derivatives, repurchase, securities lending, financial services regulatory, banking, capital markets, or Islamic finance work, whether in a law firm or as in-house counsel, is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong project management abilities and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Good team player with an agile and adaptable mindset.
  • Must be able to work independently and with other functional specialists to complete projects.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
