Project Nature (T26) Provide administration and support services for the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) system of the Hong Kong Police Force

Duties

Duties - Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the HKPF;

• Responsible for the administration, maintenance and support of the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) system and file servers for the HKPF;
• Responsible to monitor the system healthiness and take necessary troubleshooting to ensure smooth day-to-day operation;
• Responsible for the administration and support for the day-to-day maintenance activities and enhancement assignments of the VDI system and file servers;
• Respond to help desk requests for VDI system and provide 7 x 24 technical support;
• Any other assignments for supporting the IT systems and activities of the HKPF.

Requirements

• Independence, skillful and experienced in supporting mission critical IT system in 7x24 basis;
• Solid experience in virtualization technology, preferable on Citrix and Huawei solution;
• Evaluate, assess, plan and implement new requirements or new initiatives, i.e., new business, replacement of de-support servers, etc;
• Experience in helpdesk call handling;
• Security vetting is required.

Technical Skills

• At least 5 years' experience in Infrastructure (INF);
• At least 5 years' experience in Server Virtualisation Technology (SVT);
• At least 5 years' experience in Windows Server 2008/2012 (W12);
• At least 3 years' experience in Storage Area Network (SAN).

Non-technical Skills

• At least 2 years' experience in work with the Government (GOV);
• At least 2 years' experience in helpdesk call handling (HDT).

• Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent;
• At least 8 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 3 years' relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
