A leading aerospace company is seeking a Contracts Specialist to manage contract negotiations and ensure compliance with legal and corporate policies. Responsibilities include drafting and reviewing contracts, collaborating with various internal teams, and monitoring compliance with contractual obligations. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree, contract law knowledge, and excellent communication skills. This position is crucial for supporting the company’s operations across the APAC region.
The Contracts team in Singapore supports all aspects of Parker Aerospace’s aftermarket business within the APAC and China region. Our customers include airlines, aircraft maintenance organizations and aircraft manufacturers.
As a Contracts Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and supporting the negotiation of the contracts, ensure compliance with legal requirements and corporate policies. You will play a crucial role in reviewing and drafting various types of contracts that are aligned to the company’s interest. You will also be a key advisor to internal stakeholders on existing contractual obligations and for handling of customer claims and assertions.
Review and draft contracts including but not limited to sales agreements, non-disclosure agreements, distributor agreements and licensing agreements.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as legal, sales, operations, supply chain, customer experience and pricing teams to ensure proposed contractual terms and deliverables align with business objectives.
Identify and highlight any clauses or terms that may impact the company’s operations, financial position or any potential risks on legal topics such as liability and indemnification.
Follow through bid review action items and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure all open actions are closed.
Ensure Parker’s policies are followed in relation to the request-for-approval (RFA) process for new contracts, bids proposals and renewals.
Ensure that all contracts are properly documented and tracked in contract repository (SEAL) and Sharepoint.
Maintain and update an internal database which includes pricing, key contract terms and contract flow-down documents and ensuring accurate records and easy access to contract information.
Monitor contract compliance, including obligations and deliverables and promptly address any deviations or issues that may arise.
Manage contract renewals, amendments, and terminations and working closely with stakeholders to negotiate and execute changes as necessary.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review and validate claims promptly.
Help to advise and ensure Parker’s compliance with all relevant law, regulations and legislation including but not limited to export compliance, anti-corruption and government contracting flowdowns.
Utilize legal resources and in-house legal subject matter experts to ensure all levels of risk are recognized and subsequently addressed.
Keep up to date and ensure to follow through on internal governance policies.
Investigate and resolve claims or assertions by collecting and analysing information.
Handle ad-hoc requests and tasks as required.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Past experience in contracts or a similar role in Aerospace would be an added advantage
Able to work independently to manage conflicting priorities or deadlines.
Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills.
In-depth knowledge in Microsoft Excel and SAP is preferred.
A strong grasp of contract law is fundamental. This includes knowledge of legal terminology, legal issues, and standard contractual clauses.
Strong analytical skills and judgement are necessary to assess risks, evaluate contract terms, and make informed decisions.
The ability to meticulously review contracts for accuracy and clarity.
Basic financial skills; the ability to understand, review and interpret pricing models and business cases and understand the correlation between profit, risk and agreed terms & conditions.
