Job description

The Construction Supervisor – Wall Tiler is responsible for overseeing wall tiling works on construction sites to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards and design specifications. The role involves supervising tilers, coordinating with other trades, inspecting workmanship, and ensuring compliance with drawings, materials, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Coordination
  • Supervise and manage wall tiling teams and subcontractors on-site

  • Allocate daily tasks and ensure efficient use of labor and materials

  • Coordinate tiling activities with other trades (plumbers, electricians, painters, etc.)

  • Communicate progress, issues, and requirements to site management

Quality Control
  • Ensure wall tiling works meet project specifications, drawings, and quality standards

  • Inspect surface preparation, tile alignment, spacing, levels, and finishes

  • Identify defects and ensure timely corrective actions

  • Approve completed tiling works before handover

Planning & Scheduling
  • Plan tiling work sequences to meet project timelines

  • Monitor productivity and adjust manpower as needed

  • Assist in estimating material quantities and labor requirements

Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce site safety rules and proper use of PPE

  • Ensure tiling works comply with local building codes and regulations

  • Conduct toolbox talks related to tiling activities and materials

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

Materials & Tools
  • Ensure correct tiles, adhesives, grouts, and tools are used

  • Check delivery, storage, and handling of tiling materials

  • Minimize material wastage

Reporting
  • Maintain daily site records and progress reports

  • Report delays, technical issues, or material shortages

  • Assist with inspections and handover documentation

Job Requirements
Education & Certification
  • High school diploma or technical/vocational qualification in construction or tiling

  • Certification in tiling or construction supervision is an advantage

  • Safety training certification (preferred)

Experience
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in wall tiling works

  • At least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead tiler role

  • Experience in residential, commercial, or industrial projects

Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of wall tiling methods, materials, and tools

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, layouts, and specifications

  • Knowledge of surface preparation, waterproofing, adhesives, and grouting

  • Familiarity with quality standards and finishing requirements

Physical & Other Requirements
