Job description

We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Construction Manager to oversee the safe, high-quality, and timely execution of large-scale industrial or treatment process plant projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong civil / structural construction background with extensive experience managing site operations, subcontractors, and construction sequencing for complex plant projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage day‑to‑day construction activities on site, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.

  • Oversee construction planning, sequencing, and execution, coordinating closely with project management, engineering, and procurement teams.

  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure timely progress and quality workmanship.

  • Conduct regular site inspections, toolbox meetings, and progress meetings to monitor construction status, quality, and compliance with safety regulations.

  • Ensure all construction works comply with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, statutory requirements, and company standards.

  • Identify construction‑related risks, constraints, and site issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimise delays and rework.

  • Monitor construction progress against the approved programme and work with the Project Manager to address schedule or resource challenges.

  • Review construction methods, temporary works, and sequencing plans to ensure constructability and efficiency.

  • Coordinate with consultants, engineers, and client representatives on site technical matters, inspections, and approvals.

  • Prepare and submit site progress reports, construction updates, and safety reports to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders.

  • Drive continuous improvement in site execution, productivity, safety performance, and construction quality.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 10 years of construction experience, with a strong focus on industrial plants, water treatment plants, or projects of similar scale and complexity.

  • Proven track record in managing site construction, subcontractors, and site safety for large‑scale projects.

  • Strong working knowledge of construction methods, temporary works, sequencing, and site coordination.

  • In-depth understanding of Singapore construction regulations, safety standards, and codes of practice.

  • Excellent leadership and people‑management skills, with the ability to lead large site teams effectively.

  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under site pressure.

  • Good communication and coordination skills to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.

  • Proficient in construction planning and reporting tools (e.g. MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
