A leading engineering company in Singapore is seeking a Project Supervisor to oversee construction activities in the oil & gas sector. The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering and at least 3 years of relevant experience in managing construction in process and petrochemical environments. Responsibilities include ensuring project specifications are met, leading teams, and maintaining safety protocols.
Job description:
Responsible for organizing, supervising, and directing project construction activities to successfully meet project specifications and schedules as Contractor’s principal representative to Owner at the jobsite.
Forms preliminary construction plans including organization, staffing, and administration, subject to review by the Project Manager.
Studies specifications to plan construction procedures; monitors procurement of equipment and materials to be delivered to conform to work schedules.
Finalizes assignment of field construction personnel and mobilization plan of manpower; assembles members of organization at the start of the project.
Authorizes work and services to be purchased from outside sources or subcontracted at the jobsite in accordance with construction policy and project economics.
Confers with or directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
Authorizes the field construction schedule and field construction procedures to ensure good workmanship, safe construction, and on-schedule performance.
Acts as liaison between Contractor and Owner’s representatives in the interpretation of specifications.
Receives from subordinates’ reports on progress, materials, manpower, and costs, and directs the work schedule.
Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications. Develops new construction methods to satisfy unusual circumstances and changes from the original plan.
Approves jobsite expenditures for labor and services by reviewing cost records, workmanship, material quality and quantity, scheduling, and procurement.
Approves Safety procedures for all site workers to abide.
