Allianz Trade is a leader in the trade credit insurance market and embraces innovative technologies. We utilize Artificial Intelligence powered tools and encourage candidates with a basic understanding of commonly used platforms, as well as an awareness of best practices and the potential risks associated with AI in the workplace to apply.

The position forms part of the Allianz Trade ASEAN Surety team. You will contribute to the achievement of profitable and sustainable growth under Allianz Trade’s Asia Pacific Surety strategy. We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Surety Underwriter to step into an existing portfolio of ASEAN based clients and to develop and manage a new business pipeline, utilising a broad commercial understanding of corporate clients and knowledge of the surety product.

Key Responsibilities

Reports to: Head of Surety & Guarantee, ASEAN.

  • Responsible for account management of existing portfolio of clients including relationship management, facility renewal and risk monitoring, and documentation.
  • Responsible for developing and converting a new business pipeline.
  • Support opening of new Surety markets and execute business strategy in these markets.
  • Execute commercial strategy in line with Allianz Trade’s new business thresholds to grow the ASEAN surety portfolio.
  • Preparation and issuance of bonds and risk participations with banks.
  • Liaise with internal partners including finance, claims, and risk teams.
  • Structuring of transactions with multinational corporations and banks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic partners, including but not limited to clients, brokers, banks, lawyers, etc.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders including Allianz, AGCS, other Allianz Trade’s Surety BUs and Allianz Trade’s Global Surety Team.
  • Responsible for investigation, analysing, and managing all necessary underwriting/accounting/work‑flow issues within the framework of Surety policies and procedures.
  • Provide timely, regular and accurate reporting and monitoring of client portfolio.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in relevant roles including account management, sales management, and senior risk analysis roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field.
  • Experienced professional in the financial services industry with a background in structuring and managing financial transactions in a market-facing role.
  • Strong risk analysis skills.
  • Proactive and creative in execution of business strategy in a corporate environment.
  • Strong communication, presentation and reporting skills.
  • Proactive and sociable personality.
  • Ability to analyse and negotiate legal documentation, acting as liaison with corporate legal counsel.
