Job description
Chief Technology Officer – Autonomous MobileRobotics

Position Summary: We are seeking a hands‑on, technically deep Chief Technology Officer to architect and build the core technology for our cutting‑edge autonomous mobile robot platform. As a founding technical leader, you will be solely responsible for the entire technology stack – from conception and simulation to hardware design and software deployment. This is a player‑coach role where exceptional individual contribution is required to establish our foundational technology.

Mandatory Requirements
  • 1. Leadership & Industry Experience: Proven track record as a CTO (minimum 6 years), Head of Engineering, or an equivalent senior technical leadership role in a company developing autonomous mobile robots.
  • Minimum of 10 years of direct, hands‑on experience in the mobile robotics industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to set technical vision, strategy, and roadmaps from the ground up in a startup or early‑stage environment.
  • 2. Education & Theoretical Foundation: Ph.D. in Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science with a thesis or profound expertise in mathematical modeling and simulation of complex automated systems.
  • Deep understanding of kinematics, dynamics, control theory, sensor fusion, and state estimation.
  • 3. Core Software Engineering Expertise: Senior‑level proficiency in C++ and Python for developing high‑performance, real‑time robotic systems.
  • Senior‑level expertise with ROS 1/ROS 2 framework (ROS 2 preferred). Must have architected and deployed complex robotic systems using ROS.
  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing APIs and system architecture for complex, distributed automated systems.
  • 4. Hardware & Mechanical Integration: Hands‑on experience in 3D modeling of mechanical assemblies and components for robotics (using tools like SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or CATIA).
  • Practical capability in schematic design and PCB layout for robotic subsystems, including:
    • Power distribution systems.
    • Digital signaling and logic.
    • Analog circuits (filters, amplifiers for sensor signals).
  • 5. Specialized NVIDIA Technology Stack: High professional competency with the NVIDIA robotics ecosystem:
    • NVIDIA Omniverse for simulation and digital twins.
    • Isaac ROS for GPU‑accelerated ROS 2 packages.
    • cuVSLAM / NvBlox for vision‑based SLAM and 3D reconstruction.
Critical Personal Attributes
  • Founder Mentality & Hands‑On Builder: As the company's first technical hire, you must be willing and able to execute all foundational development tasks personally. You will be the primary contributor across all listed technical domains until the team scales.
  • Full‑Stack Robotics Visionary: Unique ability to seamlessly connect high‑level mathematical simulation with low‑level hardware implementation and embedded software.
  • Problem‑Solver & Pragmatist: Focus on creating robust, minimal viable systems that work in the real world, not just in simulation.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to potential investors, partners, and future team members.
What You Will Do (Initial Focus)
  • Design and implement the core software architecture (C++, Python, ROS 2).
  • Develop and run physics‑based simulations in NVIDIA Omniverse.
  • Model critical mechanical parts and interfaces.
  • Design and prototype electronic boards for power management and sensor integration.
  • Integrate and optimize perception, navigation, and control stacks using NVIDIA tools.
  • Build the first functional prototypes, essentially serving as the entire engineering department in the initial phase.

This role is designed for a unique individual who is both theoretical expert and a practical engineer, ready to build the future of mobile robotics with their own hands.
