The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Executives/Professionals is a 15‑month local attachment with GSK, available only to Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents. Training allowances are CPF exempted.

Role Description

As a MSAT Chemist you will plan, organize and carry out experimental work with the objective of improving existing processes and developing new product processes, evaluating raw materials and providing troubleshooting support to the operations department.

Key Responsibility Areas
  • Ensure process optimisation for a specific product to improve yield, quality, output and cost savings in line with GMP requirements and suitability for secondary process performance.
  • Troubleshoot plant/process issues to resolve batch salvage or develop novel re‑work methods for substandard batches.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing compliant with GMP/GLP (lab notebooks, technical memos, raw data, risk assessments).
  • Supervise technicians and junior staff to ensure safe work practices.
  • Act as product custodian and provide first‑line product‑specific technical support to internal and external customers.
  • Support routine manufacture and commissioning of established/new products, including training in process chemistry.
  • Evaluate raw material and intermediate quality, liaise with suppliers and provide feedback.
  • Support change implementation, material risk assessment and continuous process verification (CPV).
  • Provide technical support for routine process decontamination activities and improve current methods.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Chemistry or equivalent.
  • Experience in a laboratory environment in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent is desired.
Competencies / Skills
  • Sound knowledge of organic, organometallic and analytical chemistry.
  • Sound plant chemistry knowledge.
  • Knowledge of cGMP/GLP and laboratory safety.
  • Financial and general business awareness.
  • Good communication skills.

Location: One of our manufacturing sites in Singapore near Jurong. Two‑way shuttle services from designated MRT locations are provided.
