Job summary

A leading molecular diagnostic company in Singapore is seeking a Research Officer for their Profiling and Sequencing team. This role involves executing experiments for high-throughput biomarker discovery, including RNA isolation and RT-qPCR profiling. Candidates should have a Diploma or Degree in a related Science discipline and preferably at least 1 year of molecular biology experience. Strong technical skills and the ability to work independently while thriving in a fast-paced environment are essential. Candidates will support compliance with health and safety policies in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in molecular biology preferred.
  • Familiarity with ELISA, NGS and RT-qPCR is a plus.

Job Summary

MiRXES Lab is seeking a Research Officer to join our Profiling and Sequencing team. The biomarker team research officer will assist in development and execution of protocols and SOPs to enable high-quality data to be obtained from precious clinical samples.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Precise execution of experiments for high-throughput biomarker discovery using clinical samples.
  • miRNA RT-qPCR profiling, including RNA isolation, reverse transcription and qPCR.
  • NGS workflows such as nucleic acid extraction, library preparation and sequencing.
  • Other technologies either commercially available or developed in-house.
  • Keep accurate inventory of the clinical samples.
  • Perform literature search, design, and conduct experiments for the development, optimization and validation of biomarker discovery technologies.
  • Data collection and organization for downstream data analysis.
  • Maintain accurate experimental records.
  • Perform other experiments such as ELISA, Western blotting etc. as required to support biomarker discovery.
  • Write and/or support preparation of technical reports, SOPs and documents.
  • Validate procedures for instrument testing, quality control and generate final reports.
  • Provide experimental and technical support to internal and external stakeholders whenever necessary.
  • Inventory maintenance and procurement of consumables and reagents.
  • Provide support for bio-banking activities, if necessary, such as blood processing, sample registration.
  • Provide support for compliance of health and safety policies.
Desired Skills & Competencies
  • Diploma or Degree in a related Science discipline.
  • Preferably with at least 1 year of molecular biology experience.
  • Experience in ELISA, NGS and RT-qPCR is a plus.
  • Results oriented, with integrity and dependability with a strong sense of prioritization.
  • Able to develop in-depth technical troubleshooting skills and exercise sound judgment, making decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • Ability to plan ahead and provide insights and alternatives for contingency.
  • Good verbal communication, interpersonal and team skills.
  • Demonstrate ability and confidence to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Thrive in fast-paced environment where teamwork is essential to success.
