Overview

We are seeking for an Operations Specialist to join our Asia Pacific team. This role partners closely with the client’s Sydney Operations Manager and global offices to provide seamless operational coverage across the region. The Operations Specialist will be responsible for supporting trade settlement, maintaining custodian relationships, and ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Global Operations Support: Collaborate with the Sydney office to deliver a “follow the sun” operational model, ensuring continuity and efficiency across time zones.
  • Trade Support: Facilitate trade matching and settlement processes for the Boston and Sydney Trade Settlement groups, including China market trade matching.
  • Custodian Relationship Management: Maintain effective working relationships with custodians, ensuring proper attention to and maintenance of client accounts.
  • Trading Group Support: Conduct custody holdings checks for the AsiaPac region, confirm spendable cash, and respond to ad hoc requests.
  • Account Reconciliation: Oversee portfolio holdings, trading activity, and cash balances, coordinating with outsource providers such as BNY and SS&C.
  • Corporate Action Processing: Assist with oversight and monitoring of corporate actions on Sydney-based accounts, and contribute to the development of operating models for voluntary and mandatory corporate actions.
  • Pre-Trade Compliance: Support the trading group in validating pre-trade compliance exceptions promptly.
  • Account Setup: Work with internal stakeholders to set up accounts for new clients, including collaboration with transition managers.
  • Internal Stakeholder Support: Respond to internal inquiries from Trading, Compliance, or the Global Client Group.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of fund accounting, operations, or investment management experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of financial accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Windows and Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Charles River CRIMS, Omgeo CTM, and Omgeo Alert is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
