Job description
    As an Assistant Vice President, Quantitative Analyst BI Retail Credit Risk Modeler at Barclays Services Corp., you will be responsible for developing account level multivariate and time series econometric models to predict credit risk using statistical methods such as logistic regression, linear regression, generalized linear regression, decision tree, and machine learning techniques. Your role will involve project design, predictive model development, strategy development, creation of production code, and implementation of models. Leveraging your knowledge of statistics, economics, mathematics, and programming techniques, you will develop financial tools used by internal business units to quantify and manage credit risk.Using tools such as Hadoop, SQL, and Spark, you will extract relevant features from raw data sources, perform feature engineering, derive target variables, and construct data structures for multiple model development purposes. It will be essential for you to produce comprehensive documentation to ensure model replication and predict model adherence to internal, external, and regulatory requirements. You will provide intellectual leadership and analytical support to clients, assisting them in developing best-in-class practices throughout the product life cycle.Collaborating with senior management, model owners, regulators, and auditors, you will communicate model development techniques and collaborate with the Chief Risk Officer team and Independent Validation Unit team to deep dive into modeling results. You will liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with firm-wide and industry practices. Additionally, you will draft production code, collaborate with the implementation team to perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and drive model implementation into production. The position may allow for telecommuting.In this role, you will design, develop, implement, and support mathematical, statistical, and machine learning models and analytics used in business decision-making. Your responsibilities will include designing analytics and modeling solutions for complex business problems, collaborating with technology, developing high-performing solutions, implementing analytics and models accurately, and providing ongoing support for their effectiveness. You will also ensure conformance to all Barclays Enterprise Risk Management Policies, particularly the Model Risk Policy, and work within the defined control environment.As an Assistant Vice President, you are expected to advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. You will lead a team, set objectives, coach employees, and demonstrate leadership behaviours to create an environment for colleagues to thrive.
