Role Overview

We are seeking a high-calibre Associate to join our investment team. This is a hands-on role for those who thrive in an entrepreneurial setting, are keen to work in a lean, fast-moving team, and are committed to unlocking superior returns through operational improvement, strategic growth, and value creation.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Origination & Execution

• Build detailed financial models, conduct commercial and financial due diligence, and draft investment memos for internal and IC review.
• Assist in identifying and evaluating new investment opportunities in Southeast Asia’s mid-market.
• Support end-to-end transaction execution, including term negotiation and documentation.

Portfolio Management & Value Creation

• Work alongside senior team members and portfolio company management to develop and execute value creation plans.
• Drive analysis to identify EBITDA uplift levers, including pricing, cost optimization, procurement, and digital transformation.
• Monitor portfolio performance metrics and prepare internal and LP reporting.
• Support strategic initiatives such as bolt-on acquisitions, operational turnarounds, and professionalization of management teams.
• Contribute to governance improvement by helping implement KPIs, dashboards, and board reporting standards.
• Partner with founders and leadership teams to embed best practices in finance, operations, and talent management.

Market & Sector Research

• Track macroeconomic and regulatory trends across Southeast Asia.
• Deliver insights on sectors aligned to DAPE’s investment thesis and thematic growth plays.

Who You Are

• Academic & Analytical Excellence : Strong training in finance, accounting, economics, or related fields. MBA or CFA is a plus.
• Professional Experience : At least 2 years at a leading local/global investment bank, consulting firm, or private equity fund.
• Strategic & Execution Mindset : Comfortable with both high-level strategy and detailed analysis; able to translate ideas into action.
• Regional Fluency : Understanding of Southeast Asian business environments and cultural nuances—experience in Malaysia, Singapore, or neighboring markets is a plus.
• Entrepreneurial and Collaborative : Hands-on, resourceful, and aligned with our philosophy of “bringing more than capital”—building trust, empathy, and long-term partnerships with founders.
