Job Purpose:


This role supports the group finance functions by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control framework, and governance processes. It also ensures compliance with statutory and group reporting requirements.



Duties & Responsibilities


  • Financial Reporting and Reconciliation: Review monthly closing activities for regional subsidiaries, reconciling intercompany transactions and balances to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

  • Cash Flow Management: Compiling and monitoring cash balances and cash movements for regional subsidiaries, optimising cash flow and liquidity management.

  • Financial Analysis: Compiling financial figures and conducting data analysis for regional subsidiaries, providing meaningful insights to support effective decision-making by management.

  • Group Consolidation: Preparing bi-annual Group Consolidation reports for audit purposes, ensuring accurate consolidation of financial data across the organization.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting Support: Assisting in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and management reports. Explaining variances between actual results and budgeted/forecasted figures to management.

  • Internal Controls and Policy Review: Collaborating in the review of internal controls, financial policies, and operational procedures within regional subsidiaries. Identifying weaknesses and gaps and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.

  • Subsidiary Bookkeeping: Maintaining subsidiary companies' financial books and records to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial data.

  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Participating in ad-hoc financial projects and assignments as needed, contributing to various financial initiatives and providing support where required.

  • Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with subsidiaries to gather and share financial information and ensure that financial goals align with overall company objectives.

  • Streamline Processes: Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency in the work process.

  • Auditing: Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.



Knowledge and Skills Requirements


  • Accounting Principles: Strong understanding of accounting principles, including knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

  • Financial Analysis: Proficiency in financial statement analysis, including the ability to interpret income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements, which may include tax laws and financial reporting standards.

  • Data Analysis: Strong data analysis skills to manipulate and interpret financial data using tools like Excel or specialized software.

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulousness. Precision in financial data entry, reporting, and analysis to ensure accuracy.
