Job summary

A leading events agency in Singapore is seeking a Business Development professional to identify new market opportunities, develop growth strategies, and manage relationships with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have at least 8-10 years of experience in business development or sales within the events industry, possess strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, and be proficient in CRM software. This full-time role requires a Bachelor's degree or MBA, alongside a drive to achieve sales targets.

Business Development
  • Proactively identify and secure new market segments, high-impact partnership opportunities, and emerging industry trends specifically for the live events business.
  • Develop and implement robust partnership and growth strategies aligned with long-term company goals.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders, clients and industry influencers to ensure a strong sales pipeline.
  • Lead contract discussions, manage proposals (RFPs), and finalize strategic agreements to ensure value creation.
  • Identify platforms to showcase business offerings, credentials or collaboration ideas to prospective clients or business partners.
  • Review business development plans and strategies periodically through data collection and analysis.
  • Manage budgets, track KPIs and provide periodic pipeline progress to the leadership team.
  • Mentor and collaborate with cross-functional project team members to support business growth.
Requirements
  • Candidates must be a team player and possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Candidates must have an innate ‘hunter’ mindset and thrive on achieving KPIs and attaining sales commissions.
  • Candidates must have prior experience in business development and/or sales role in an events agency with proven track records.
  • Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree or MBA in business or related field.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Candidates should have a good command of English Language (written & spoken).
  • Proficiency in Google Office Suite and CRM software.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years working experience in an events agency specializing in sales and/or business development is required for this position.
  • Flexibility to travel (as needed) for client meetings and events.
