As a leading global long-term investor, we work at the point of impact for Singapore’s financial future, and the communities we invest in worldwide.

We were an early entrant among institutional investors in real estate, including traditional private real estate (brick-and-mortar assets), public equities, real estate investment trusts, and real estate-related debt instruments.

Business Management & Operations

The Real Estate Business Management & Operations team plays a vital role in providing business management and transaction execution support to Real Estate Investment Professionals globally. This includes developing governance structures for the Real Estate business, propagating industry best practices, improving efficiency by process design, coordinating deal execution and closings, and overseeing the process of identification and presenting data to ensure GIC Real Estate continues to retain its competitive edge. The team also manages the Real Estate portfolio insurance program to ensure appropriate protection of downside risks.

We are looking for a suitable candidate to support the development of Real Estate’s insurance systems capabilities to join our team on a 12‑month contract.

What will you do as an Associate in the Business Management & Operations team?
  • Coordinate the insurance data collection process, handle data queries and resolve any data anomalies.
  • With supervision, partner with RE colleagues and other departments to streamline and enhance the processes relating to insurance.
  • Analyze existing datasets and support data migration strategies, which may include data cleansing to ensure data brought over from legacy systems are of good quality.
  • Collaborate with GIC colleagues to design new dashboards for analytics and monitoring of the RE insurance portfolio.
  • Work with technology teams to maintain documentation, perform testing, manage defect tracking and elevate any risk areas to the project sponsor and project lead.
  • Provide general insurance function related support as directed.
What qualification or skills should you possess in this role?
  • Minimum 2 years working experience and good academic qualifications in relevant fields, with experience in business analysis, systems migration and implementation of major projects in financial institutions preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL is a must.
  • Knowledge in programming or data visualization tools such as Python, Tableau or Power BI would be an advantage.
  • Relevant knowledge of commercial insurance would be an advantage.
  • Able to communicate effectively between users and developers and articulate ideas or solutions clearly to stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills and ability to manage timelines well.
  • Resourcefulness and ability to problem solve, as well as be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess great learning agility and desire to learn, comfortable in attaining new skills to aid day‑to‑day work.
