External Managers Department

We embrace an active investing approach for funds under external management to outperform public market benchmark indices.

What impact can you make in this role?

You will be part of the GIC’s internal investment function where we award investment directives to external fund managers whose ability complements our own capabilities.

We are looking for a suitable candidate to join us as a Data Analyst on a 1 year contract.

What will you do as an Associate, Data Analyst (Contract)?

You will support the External Managers Department in executing data projects and process enhancements across multiple strategies to strengthen investment capabilities. In addition, you will contribute to key organisational initiatives, collaborate on platform and programme rollouts, and perform business management functions that ensure robust governance and alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Manage data migration and consolidation projects across systems. Build and optimize scalable data pipelines.
  • Perform data quality checks, data reconciliation and ensure accuracy across large datasets.
  • Develop and migrate analytics dashboards to support business insights.
  • Conduct system UAT and resolve data or process issues.
  • Support business processes and maintain data standards.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external parties to implement solutions to create business value and efficiency for the department.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
  • Minimum of 2 years’ hands‑on experience in data management or data analytics within the investment or banking industry.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools, with working knowledge of Python, SQL, or AI applications; intermediate Excel skills preferred.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail, with the ability to manage and interpret large datasets effectively.
  • Proven ability to implement and drive new processes that enhance efficiency.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, demonstrating strong time management and composure under pressure.
