Role Overview
As a Junior / Assistant Relationship Manager (ARM), you will support senior RMs in servicing highnet-worth clients through day-to-day relationship management, portfolio support, and operational execution. This role is ideal for someone early in their wealth management career who wants to learn client work, investment advisory, and operational discipline in a boutique, client-centric environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Servicing & Relationship Support
- Assist senior RMs in managing and deepening client relationships.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients on administrative matters.
- Coordinate client onboarding including KYC/AML, account opening, and documentation preparation.
- Prepare meeting materials, client reports, and follow-up action items.
- Investment & Advisory Support
- Help prepare portfolio reviews, investment proposals, and market updates.
- Liaise with the investment team to gather research and portfolio recommendations.
- Monitor client portfolios and flag deviations from target allocation or mandate.
- Product Knowledge & Execution Responsibilities
- Support portfolio implementation across plain-vanilla products: Equities, bonds, unit trusts/mutual funds, ETFs, money market instruments.
- Coordinate trade execution with investment and operations teams to ensure timely, errorfree processing.
- Handle client transactions such as subscriptions/redemptions, switch orders, cash transfers, and corporate action queries.
- Prepare accurate portfolio reports and analytics using internal systems (e.g., e-AMIS, Clearwater).
- Maintain updated knowledge of recommended funds, model portfolios, and house investment views.
- Ensure all executions comply with client mandates, internal risk controls, and MAS regulations.
- Operational & Compliance Support
- Ensure correct documentation for trades, transactions, and advisory notes.
- Work with compliance to meet MAS and internal standards for client suitability and reporting.
- Maintain CRM data, client profiles, and pipeline information.
- Business Development Assistance
- Support RMs with preparation for events, marketing materials, and client communication pieces.
- Assist with client pipeline tracking and follow-up.
- Help develop client insights or segmentation reports for internal use.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or equivalent.
- 0–3 years of experience in wealth management, private banking, or financial services is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; professional and client-centric.
- Good understanding of basic investment products (equities, bonds, funds, ETFs).
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with CRM systems is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, responsible, proactive, and eager to learn.
