Job summary

A high-technology company in Singapore is seeking an Assistant Principal Engineer / Senior Engineer to support the Production Manager in executing technological process initiatives. The ideal candidate should have 5 to 10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably low volume, high mix. Responsibilities include leading investigations during technical events, supporting new product introduction, and developing new capabilities. Candidates with strong knowledge of LEAN practices and supplier qualification processes will excel in this role.

Job Title: Assistant Principal Engineer / Senior Engineer

Supervisor: Production Manager

Location: Singapore

Mission

Provide support to the Production Manager in execution of initiatives relating to technological processes.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

• Process implementation in accordance with company requirement
• Lead in area of technical expertise, Electro-Mechanical and Special Processes etc.
• Support in new supplier selection, technical audits and qualification
• Lead investigation during technical events
• Support in NPI (New Product Introduction) and lead the PRR activities
• New processes and capabilities development and qualification
• Support industrialization activities

Job Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or Bachelor of Science
• Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience in manufacturing environment.
• Experience in Electronic Equipment, Mechanical manufacturing, preferably in low volume, high mix environment.

Specific Knowledge

• Good knowledge in supplier qualification processes, sourcing and strategic supplier management
• Good knowledge in manufacturing process technology.
• Working knowledge / experienced practitioner of LEAN and six sigma practices.
• 8D problem solving methodology in resolving technical and manufacturing process problems.
• Understand engineering drawings, schematics, tool / bench drawings and other technical documents associated with manufacturing hardware will be a strong advantage.
• Expertise in IPC-A-610 (Class 3) and PCBA manufacturing process control -OR-
• Expertise in HMS manufacturing (particularly in LCD modules), IPC-A-610 (Class 3) and HMS manufacturing process control -OR-
• Expertise in MMS and manufacturing process control. Knowledge on Laser Cutting & Welding, Precision-Metal Fabrication, Welded Assemblies, Deep Drawing Parts, Paints, Ionization and Surface Treatment -OR-
• Expertise in IPC-A-600 (Class 3) and PCB manufacturing process control -OR-
• Expertise in Test methods at board test level and at product level -OR-
• Knowledge of technical processes relating to troubleshooting and repair of electronics, electronics assemblies, screening and testing methodologies -OR-
• Expertise in quality management requirements (AS9100) and supplier quality management.
