Responsibilities

We are seeking a dynamic and detail‑oriented Assistant Manager, Strategic Communications to ideate and execute internal and external communication strategies. This role is responsible for crafting compelling communication narratives, supporting media engagement/relations, and contributing to impactful communication strategies that will help advance the mission of building Singapore into a giving nation.

  • Develop creative and impactful angles and opportunities to articulate NVPC's vision, mission, values, purpose and impact across a wide range of stakeholders
  • Engage different teams and collaborate cross‑functionally with key stakeholders to develop press materials, speeches, and other communication assets
  • Pitch and position NVPC's announcement, research, programmes and initiatives accurately and strategically, ensuring integration, consistency and alignment in brand and messaging
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders on timelines, input, expectations and approvals around PR and communication deliverables
  • Contribute to the success of media events and media relations efforts by building media targets, drafting pitches, coordinating interviews and running briefing sessions
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communication campaigns and initiatives, providing regular reports and insights for continuous improvement
  • Conduct research on the latest media trends and spot opportunities for NVPC to insert a point of view
  • Draft and edit internal communication materials such as posters and EDMs to effectively engage NVPC employees
  • Handle day‑to‑day administrative tasks associated with communications projects and initiatives
Qualifications
  • Degree or Diploma in PR, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related
  • 5‑7 years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, or a related role. Experience in the public sector or experience liaising with government agencies is a plus
  • Understands how to work well with key journalists, senior spokespersons and different types of stakeholders in the public service, corporate, non‑profit sector
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to craft clear and compelling messages
  • Strong research and analytical skills to gather and interpret data for strategic insights
  • Bilingual business competency in any of these languages: English, Chinese, Malay or Tamil
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Keen interest in current affairs, news, ESG and societal issues
