As part of our continued growth and governance strengthening, we are looking for a Payroll Assistant Manager to support large-scale, multi-entity payroll operations.
Role Overview
The Payroll Assistant Manager oversees payroll accuracy, compliance, and reporting across Fei Siong Group’s diverse workforce. Reporting to the Head of HR, this role plays a key part in payroll governance, statutory compliance, system controls, audit readiness, and team capability development within a fast-paced F&B environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, establish, and supervise strategic actions to ensure payroll accuracy across multiple entities and brands.
- Review, analyse, and validate payroll, manpower costing, and reconciliation reports for large headcount operations.
- Prepare periodic payroll and cost reports and present insights to HR, Finance, and senior stakeholders.
- Research payroll regulations, policies, and best practices to support continuous improvement and guideline updates.
- Compile, verify, and review payroll data to ensure compliance with Singapore statutory requirements (e.g. CPF contributions, IR8A, IR21, tax clearance).
- Ensure timely completion of monthly payroll processing and statutory reporting deadlines.
- Oversee payroll system setup, configuration, and controls to support multi-entity payroll requirements.
- Perform validation and reconciliation of payroll accounts and interfaces with finance systems.
- Support internal and external payroll audits, including responding to audit queries.
- Guide and assist team members in resolving payroll discrepancies, employee enquiries, and operational issues.
- Coach, train, and develop payroll team members to ensure consistent application of standard operating procedures.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on payroll experience, preferably in large headcount and multi-entity organisations.
- F&B or retail industry experience is strongly preferred, with exposure to shift-based, hourly, or multi-location payroll.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore payroll regulations and statutory compliance (CPF, IRAS filings).
- Highly meticulous, analytical, and able to manage tight payroll timelines.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience with payroll systems and audit processes will be an advantage.
