A leading financial services firm in Singapore seeks an experienced professional to manage operational risk governance with a strong focus on cybersecurity and business continuity risks. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years in operational risk management, along with excellent analytical and communication skills. The candidate will work on policy updates, risk identification, and training to foster a strong risk culture within the organization. This role presents an opportunity to take ownership of operational risk governance in a complex financial services environment, with a strong focus on technology, cybersecurity, third‑party, and business continuity risks. By strengthening risk identification, monitoring, and remediation across the organization, the role directly contributes to the firm’s mission of maintaining operational resilience, regulatory confidence, and customer trust. Partnering closely with regional risk teams and local stakeholders, the role helps ensure risks are managed within tolerance while fostering a strong, consistent risk culture. In return, the successful candidate will gain deep exposure to enterprise‑wide risk programs, regulatory expectations, and senior risk forums, while further developing their expertise and influence as a risk professional.
Operational Risk Governance
Update and administer operational risk management policies, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with the Enterprise/Operational Risk Management framework
Focus on key risk domains Third-Party and Outsourcing Risks, Technology Risk, Information Security Risk, and Business Continuity
Collaborate with business units to identify, assess, and report operational risk exposures, ensuring risks are managed within defined tolerances
Provide local support for Singapore risk committees; facilitate development of remedial plans when risk exposures exceed or approach tolerance levels
Monitoring: work closely with Asia Risk Management and assist the AVP/Director in overseeing the operational risk management program to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
Manage IT Security and Cybersecurity risk assessments, ensuring compliance with global security standards and regulatory requirements.
Support Business Continuity Management (BCM) efforts in overseeing resilience planning, conducting periodic tests, and ensuring readiness for operational disruptions.
Provide effective third‑party risk monitoring and assess third‑party relationships to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks, including financial, operational, compliance, and reputational risks.
Support key activities such as quarterly audit learnings, risk and control assessments, incident management/reporting, and scenario analysis.
Assist in developing and delivering communication and education initiatives to foster a strong risk‑aware culture across MLS.
Ensure employees, officers, and agents understand and comply with operational risk policies through regular risk coordinator briefings and training sessions.
Bachelor’s degree in Business (Risk Management), Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience in operational risk management within financial services
Strong knowledge of risk frameworks, regulatory requirements, and governance practices relating to information security and business continuity management
Proven experience in managing risks associated with third‑party relationships is highly preferred
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Strategic and critical thinking with attention to detail
Ability to influence and collaborate across functions
Strong organizational and project management capabilities
