A leading company in the concrete industry seeks a Financial Manager to oversee operations for various entities. This role involves managing finance activities, supervising a team of accountants, and ensuring compliance with financial standards. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or ACCA and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in finance.
Job Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations of Finance for Singapore entities (TMS, TMM, R&P, RPT, and 5 inactive entities), review and approve journal vouchers, balance sheet schedules, bank reconciliation, and GST submissions.
Manage, supervise, and coach accountants for the Ready-Mix Concrete business in Singapore and Malaysia, ensuring the execution of their roles and functions.
Review and update materials circulated to the Integral Cement and Ready-Mix Concrete Operation Committee, DGM, Technical Head, and CEO for quarterly performance reviews.
Liaise with China entities regarding e-payment arrangements and related matters.
Coordinate with the Sales Team and legal advisors on credit control matters, including long-outstanding issues, legal actions, legal advice, issuing internal demand letters, and following up on legal proceedings.
Attend fortnightly credit control meetings with the sales team and provide recommendations/actions for overdue limits and terms.
Conduct daily credit control monitoring for TMS/TMM and recommend actions for overdue accounts.
Review new and annual credit applications, providing recommendations based on financial analysis and market/SGX/media information.
Liaise with internal auditors to establish, review, and improve accounting procedures and internal controls for the entities in charge.
Maintain CDP shareholding tracking reports.
Review and analyze management reports to provide insights for timely decision-making and identify cost optimization opportunities.
Review tax computations and related matters for the entities.
Assist in preparing budgetary costing and ROI analyses for new projects.
Streamline reporting requirements across entities, standardizing report formats and eliminating non-value-adding reports.
Liaise with auditors, company secretaries, and tax agents on corporate and tax matters.
Participate in ERP system implementation and enhancements.
Manage administrative tasks such as E-Bacs, Corporate Pass, credit searches, and other governmental access permissions.
Handle ad-hoc matters assigned by the Finance Manager or GFC, including feasibility studies.

Accountabilities/KPIs
Financial KPI: Assist accountants in maintaining a maximum 5 working days for financial closing.
Non-Financial KPIs:
o Timely monthly reporting;
o Streamlining and reducing the number of reports maintained by each accountant;
o Ensuring financial reports adhere to latest standards and group policies.
