Job summary

A leading hotel in Singapore is seeking a skilled maintenance engineer to ensure optimal operation and upkeep of facilities, including HVAC and plumbing systems. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience in the hospitality sector, strong technical skills, and the ability to maintain accurate records and reports. Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, responding to emergencies, and collaborating with various departments. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of engineering or maintenance experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems is essential.

Job Summary:

To support the smooth operation and maintenance of the hotel’s facilities, systems, and equipment—including electrical, plumbing, fire safety, HVAC, and kitchen equipment. The role requires both hands-on technical expertise and strong administrative skills to ensure timely reporting, record-keeping, and coordination with internal departments.

Areas of Focus:

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance while maintaining accurate documentation and reports. Support operational efficiency by combining technical ability with good planning, communication, and administrative discipline.

Responsibilities / Duties:
  • Carry out inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs for building systems, kitchen, and back-of-house equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical faults quickly to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspection checklists, and spare parts inventory.
  • Prepare daily and monthly maintenance reports, work orders, and documentation in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Support small-scale projects such as renovations, upgrades, and equipment replacements.
  • Liaise with contractors and vendors for service works and follow up on job completion and invoices.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards, building regulations, and hotel policies.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent breakdowns, including after-hours support when necessary.
  • Collaborate with other departments, especially Kitchen and F&B, to ensure all operational equipment is functioning properly.
  • Provide guidance to junior staff and assist with technical training and supervision when required.
Key Skills and Requirements:
  • NITEC / Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field (preferred).
  • 3–5 years of engineering or maintenance experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Hands-on experience with kitchen, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills (MS Office, maintenance reporting, and documentation).
  • Knowledge of Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) practices and safety procedures.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and organisational abilities.
  • Able to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and perform under pressure.
  • Candidates with prior hotel experience will be highly preferred.
