A leading technology firm in Singapore is seeking a technician to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues of computer products at customers' sites. The ideal candidate should have technical troubleshooting skills, experience in computer hardware repair, and possess a diploma in a relevant engineering field. This position requires multitasking and working independently while adhering to company standards.
This role is being offered in partnership with our recruitment partner. If selected, your employment contract will be issued by the recruitment partner, but you'll be working directly with Acer Computer (Singapore) Pte Ltd.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues of new computer products and peripherals at customers' sites
Diagnose customer reported faults on electronics devices (Notebook, Desktop, All-In-One, Monitor, Tablet, Mobile etc), replace faulty hardware parts (such as MB, LCD, HDD etc.) and service the computer to working condition at customers’ sites
Carry out repair solutions with software or part/component replacement at customers’ sites
Deploy, setup and configure new computer hardware and software system at customers' sites
Communicate with customer on technical issues
Able to dismantle and assemble electronics devices properly without causing damage
Preferably with experience in repair notebook/laptop (e.g. change Motherboard, LCD, battery, speaker, keyboard, charging port, SSD, HDD, RAM, casing, hinges, LCD bezel/cover etc)
Able to diagnose and identify malfunction of motherboard/LCD if it is manufacturing defect or Customer Induced Damage (e.g. Liquid Spillage, screen crack)
Proactive in problem solving and following up and close all repair cases timely
Adhere to company SOP to meet with SLA, KPIs and repair process and systems
Maintain good housekeeping and follow safety work management systems and procedure at all times
Report suspected high failure part/component/incident to Service Manager/HQ/ODM for investigation and resolution
Perform Ad-Hoc duties as and when assigned by the company
Relevant experience:
Preferably 1 year experience in servicing / deploying computer equipment
Prior experience in computer hardware repair and servicing, data transfer, system migration, imaging and application is an added advantage
Familiar with using internet and mobile application
General Technical Trouble-shooting on I.T hardware such as Desktop, Notebook, Monitor, All-in-One, Tablet, Chromebook etc
Basic knowledge on office application products, Windows OS, Chrome OS and Office 365
Must be able to multitask and work independently
Basic skills required:
ITE / Diploma in Computer, Electrical & Electronics Engineering
Customer service-oriented with good interpersonal skills
A Class 3 Driving license is an advantage
