Job summary

A technology solutions company in Singapore is seeking an Application Support Specialist to provide quality support for Java/Web-based applications in the market risk domain. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in an application support environment, demonstrating strong skills in Linux, Java, and SQL. Responsibilities include managing production issues, coordinating maintenance activities, and implementing new releases. This role requires effective communication and collaboration with various teams to ensure seamless business operations.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in an Application Support environment.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Unix Shell Scripting, SQL, and Java.
  • Experience with Hadoop, Kubernetes, or Microservices is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day production support for Java/Web-based applications.
  • Coordinate infrastructure maintenance activities.
  • Manage the implementation of new application releases.
  • Respond to production issues promptly as per the SLA.

Role and Responsibility

To provide quality day-to-day Production support for Java/Web-based application for Product, Market Risk.

To coordinate and support infrastructure maintenance activities.

To manage implementations of new application releases; adhering to the best practices of the release management process.

To work with various partners such as Peer Application Teams, Infrastructure, Vendors, Security and Change teams, to provide seamless support for the business.

To manage Production issues by responding in a timely manner in accordance to the Service Level Agreement with the Business.

To enhance existing support process to maintain/improve service level & quality.

Skills and Experience Required

At least 2 years working in an Application Support Environment.

Core technical competency required
  • Linux; Unix Shell Scripting
  • SQL, preferably in MariaDB
  • Java programming
Good to have experience
  • Hadoop
  • Kubernetes/vmware pacific
